The Department of Hematology & Blood Bank of Liaquat National Hospital held a Continuing Medical Education Session on Transfusion Medicine “New Blood for the World” on January 30, 2010. The session was honored by Lft.General Moinuddin Haider. Dr. Salman Faridi, Medical Director, Liaquat National Hospital expressed his views and made aware the audience about the different services of LNH and the area of expertise it has. Well known hematologists of LNH and other institutes emphasized the youth to donate blood voluntarily. Speakers gave a view on issues related to Blood transfusion in various diseases and the advances in transfusion medicine. They also gave a medical perspective on Transfusion practices in Thalassemia &other anemias. In the end, the Chief Guest addressed the session and gave away shields to the respective speakers..
